I cannot find the function of the B-REC button in the operating instruction, has someone got any idea?
From what I understand on the Aiwa XK-S9000 (which is the 7000's big brother) the B-REC is for use with virgin/fresh tape or bulk erased tape. It turns off the erase head for a supposed quieter noise in the recording induced by the erase head signal.
See the Audio article in 1993 on the Aiwa XK-S9000 for a better description.
Hope this helps.
