I have Rotel RC-2000 and need repair left channel of Phono Equalizer Amp.
May be FET or Transistor is bad.
Is there any one have idea how/who can fix?
Clean your phono selector switch first, then look for bad solder connections at the RCA jacks and on the board. Could also be a bad capacitor in the phono amp circuit. Those transistors rarely fail, but it can happen.
I checked pcb connect (fixed some Transistor soldered contact) but same,
Selector switch is ok.
There is brown color capacitor at the end (1/4" x 1/2" x 1"), Is that the one you recommend to check?
Followings are Image and circuit diagrams.
Do you know who can fix this EQ Amp?
Electrolytic caps can go bad just from sitting; these have a value of .47uf and up. You can just replace them all if you can't test them. Use same values and voltage ratings. Observe polarity markings.
Any competent tech who works on audio should be able to repair this deck.
Has your rotel RC2000 repaired and functioning?
And I do have this pre and the eq amp is also having problems with distortion and clicking switching sound.
Any one of you here could give some suggestions where to check for problems? The EQ pcb has no sign of repairing. The high level inputs, all are working fine. After careful checking the power supply with a multimeter, the -54.2 v read -68v!
So I need to repair the power supply first before I could proceed further.
