The unit plays cd only if it's inclined to 45 degrees.
Clean the chrome rail that the laser assembly rides on.
Thank you very much for your answer. I'll try to clean the chrome rail by myself, otherwise I'll go to a specialized service.
I don't know if you can help me with other micro system Technics. The CD player have problems with reading CD-R, specifically at the end of it (second half of CD), or skips to easely (too sensitive at speakers vibration). Thanks a lot.

Sounds like the tray that the laser is mounted to is not moving easily enough. The grease they used has a tendency to dry out; it has to be cleaned off. Use just a thin film of oil.
Thanks for the advice, i'll try to do it myself when I have time, and hope not to damage for good.
