recently purchased a sansui 9090 receiver keeps blowing fuses anyb suggestions? known problems with this model?
Very probable that you have shorted output transistors and cascaded damage to components on the driver board. Be careful as this 9090 uses a different driver board than the 9090db. It has what appears to be factory "Fuse" mods on the driver board.
If you are electronics savvy, look for shorted and open outputs, drivers, predrivers etc. Also check for open or out of tolerance fusable resistors on the driver board. The small transistor mounted on top of the heat sinked driver also fails at times. Bias pots also open after the stage shorts.
If you are not electronics savvy, I suggest you find someone who is, as it is very easy to cause further damage if you are not familiar with solid state repair. I have repaired a number of 9090's and 9090db's and found that when the fuses continue to blow, you have lots of potential (assured) bad components.
