Scott receiver goes in and out of protection mode at start
Anybody have any insight on this? My Scott 380r receiver, venerable as it is for a transistor radio, will be in protection mode when I turn it on. OK. Then it will come out, and go back in, and then out again, for about 1 minute. Seems longer when cold, shorter when hot. Eventually, it will come out and stay out until the next time it is turned off and left for a while.
I have removed the speaker wires at the unit and all of the inputs/outputs. Same behavior. Could a fuse be the culprit? Tired diodes in the protection circuit? Loose power cord? Or just old age?
