Is it o.k. to fire up my Teac after it has been so long in storage? Are there any precautions I should take?
Hi, i have the same unit and it had also been in storage a long time. The first thing to do is to download the service manual from this site if you have'nt already. It shows you where to oil the unit, at least do this, mine was completely dry. I used a light electric motor oil for mine then i just worked all the controls with the unit off and unpluged. After that it sems to be working fine i did get some head cleaner and rubber rejuvenator for the pinch roller, i was told to never use alcohol on the pinch rollers it dries them out. Hope this helps and good listening.
