A nice looking receiver, fully restaured.
I have this unit in my bedroom. Sounds great, but I have trouble with the volume control - static / distortion when adjusting. I would like to remedy this somehow. Either by cleaning the control with an approved cleaner or replacing it. I see you restored this unit. Do you have suggested part provider?
By the way - it looks beautiful.
as far as I have understood you have problems with the volume control potentiometer. Most probably it is oxidized. Dismantle the woodcase and inject electronic contact cleaner in the little holes of the potentiometer or some drops of vaseline oil with a seryngue and move several times the volume control. This operation whould be done for all potentiometers (volume, tone, balance, bass, trebble...)
Thanks Charles, used some Deoxit on the on the pots, specifically the volume. It corrected the problem.
Good job Bill,
and now change all the capacitors and you will find a real improvement about this nice receiver capabilities (sorry for my poor English).
