PIONEER CS-955 47kg's of dynamic bliss.....VICTOR ZERO-1000 45kg's of wide and super dynamic heavenly bliss.
Maybe you have some suggestions
I swapped out my beloved Yamaha ns-1000m for phase linear p580/pioneer cs-955. The 580s go higher, hit lower, but so far just don't have that groove of the yammies.
Been bouncing them around the room... Tweaking lpad levels, tweaking turntable geometry.... They do sound good... But are still missing that "something"
I hate to even mention it because it sounds so "audiophool" but the 10 gauge bluejeans belden speaker cable might have a little to do with it... They are a touch aggressive up top... Which was fine for the ns-1000 but maybe a bit much for tad beryllium ribbon tweeters that extend beyond 100khz.
My friend is giving me his old MIT cables. I'll try those.
The pioneers might need new caps in the crossovers too...
I'm driving them with McIntosh mc-60 tube monoblocks.
