Pioneer PL-41 - 1969 Turntable runs to fast
There where a lot of execellent advices, links and Service Manuals for different Classic Audios already left at the Engine ! And on the other side I have seen the same Questions of quit a few Pioneer PL-41 owners which had the problem with a PL-41 Pioneer Turntable, running to fast. Since I have the Original Operating Instruction for the PL-41 i went into the Trouble Shooting Section. I would like to make this precious Information excessable for all the PL-41-owners and similar PL from that time. Pioneer says : " In most cases, irregular turntable speed results from lack of lubricating oil in the bearing of the turntable shaft. If iregular speed is noticed, remove the button cover, unscrew the bearing cap on the bottom end of the platter shaft, pull out the shaft, wipe off the used oil with soft cloth, put the shaft and cover back, and apply several drops of oil to the shaft from the platter side. For lubrication use the furnished oil or its equivalent. "
Now my PL-41 runs with the right speed, and I have been testing it with 7 or 8 records in the row to make sure it will keep the right speed ! It kept the speed and sounded just like it is supposed to !
