I heard the bigger brother 200c. It had a warm, big bold sound, lacking a little on finesse, but immensely enjoyable. Does this describe the 100c too?
I have had a 100C since new in 1987. It is the last remaining piece from the system I bought that year. I've never had a bit of trouble with it in 28 years. It is a very clean sounding direct coupled design with very low negative feedback utilized. Lots of storage capacitance. Very quick, good sounding amp, but not euphonic or forgiving. Very neutral sounding to my ears. Plenty of oomph and slam for any halfway efficient speaker, producing 200 wpc into 4 ohms. I am currently looking at the new Pass Labs .8 series amps for a possible replacement.
