re: GX-260D

I was wanting so see if anyone could help me out. I have an aka gx 260d and was just curious of the value of it now. Not necessarily wanting to sell it, just wanting to know what the value of one of these would be now days if it was in excellent condition. Thanks for the help.

re: GX-260D

I've bought this one yesterday and i'm loving it. Very solid and trustworthy. I'm in Love. Finally, despite Vinil, i'm listening to music that truly has movement =)

re: GX-260D

I'm trying to locate an OWNERS Manual for the AKAI GX-260D, so I can find out where to place the aluminum sensing strip on either end of the reel, as to achieve a continuous play. If this information is available other than in the OWNERS MANUAL, please let me know. Or if anyone out there has the info please send it to me.

re: GX-260D

You place it just before the end of the tape

re: GX-260D

Hi, I have several auto reverse reel to reel machines and I have seen no difference in where the aluminum strip is placed. I always thread a tape through the reel to reel and wind up a little to make sure it doesn't have the opportunity to pull out of the reel. Once the tape is in position, I will make a mark or attach a piece of tape to the left side of the head assembly. After that I just remove the reel tape and splice in a piece of the aluminum strip and she is ready to rock. I have been doing it this way for years and have never had a problem it. I hope this helps... Billy
