Akai GXC760D is beautiful deck. Perhaps one of the most beautiful Akai decks . Excellent workmanship, good materials . Sound soft, pleasant but pretty painted . Rew and fast foward is very fast . GXC-760D is very picky as far as the cassette . Most suit him TDK SA (SA-X)cassette ( 1988-1989) . All in all , a very good dek .

I own this deck since 1976. It still works perfectly up to now (2015) I have only changed the belt (once) and the pinch rollers (twice) all those years. Excellent sound. This machine is a piece of art.

Very nice deck! Electrically almost the same as the higher model GXC-570D (1st version). This one is just missing a few little add-ons... and was a bit more affordable, and easier to find...

thanks guys!!

Wow, what a great site. You guys saved my butt. I found this nice deck on the curb, broken ac selector. schematics showed me it was a switch not a shorting lug. I can wire this thing for 110ACV and crank it up, can't wait to use it for my track recording.
