The Carver SD/A-390t is a 5-disc carousel CD player with Linear Single Bit D/A Conversion for increased sonic definition, detail and accuracy.
You have chosen a quality-first CD player with triple-beam laser scanning, full remote control including volume control, random and repeat play.
For convenience in playing back CD's with different output levels, the SD/A-390t has a Level File, which memorizes the optimum volume level for each individual disc up to 100 discs.
In addition, a version of our Digital Time Lens circuit called Soft EQ sets the SD/A-390t apart from other CD players.
Soft EQ is an extremely sophisticated circuit which prevents the loss of sonic front-to-back depth imaging, as well as the excessive brightness sometimes associated with compact disc recordings.
How and when you use it depends on your choice of discs, your type of speakers, and your own musical taste.
The SD/A-390t features two 6DJ8 vacuum tubes in the final output stage - they achieve very low static and transient distortion while providing extremely high dynamic headroom.
This simple but elegant output stage results in unparalleled transparency.
Because the tubes are run at less than 25% of their maximum capacity, they are not susceptible to ageing effects and should last the lifetime of the SD/A-390t without replacement.
