Had reliable service from this unit for 10 odd years (can't recall the original buy date). Nice gold look over boring black. Good strong sound and hooked nicely to all my home theatre over the years.

Its finally died though with no sound. microprocessor reset has no impact. headphones on sounds either. All inputs DVD, CD, TV, Tuner result in no output on either A or B channels. Tuner can still track though.

This AVR is not reliable at all. The DSP board fails an repair seems impossible. No availabre spare parts.

re: AVR-2802

Hey guys ,

I just registered on the forum to let you know I fixed my avr 2802.
I copied an AT 49LV002 and burned some new ones. I soldered the new chip on my DSP board , and it works! All digital inputs and effects are working great!
I need to test the amp this week, so I am sure its the real solution.
I'll keep you guys up to date with the results :)

I know it's an old topic, but I also know some ppl still like this great receiver, and are hoping on a fix for the well known ''no audio'' bug.

Please don't hasistate to ask me questions about the fix, I am happy to answer them.

Today iI fixed the second board . It works! So my chips are ok :)

re: AVR-2802

My AVR-2802 was 22 years old when it finally failed. Needs a new DSP p/n 1U-3373 location 5. They don't make this anymore and if they did, the list price would be around $275, about a third of what the AVR-2802 cost new. Can't find any used ones either.

re: AVR-2802

1st. Denon AVR - 2802 (and all the 02 series) has only late 2001 to late 2002 under production. 2nd do you meant that IC 814 ? That CS 493292 - CL is still available mostly below 50 US$ . Mostly all the Japanese brands has no more than 10 year service activity .
