re: PMA-425R without the remote control unit

I do not have the remote control unit for this PMA-425R. When I switch it on (manually), it takes its "MUTE/STANDBY" position, no input light switches on and it refuses the idea of playing anything. The manual permanently refers to the remote control and I have found no clue in case of its absence.
Has anyone of you succesfully overcome this silly problem ? Many thanks in advance. Olivier

I have this same model and the remote . But in fact i never use the remote and no issues found in the abscence of remote.Fully functional with and without...

re: PMA-425R without the remote control unit

I tought that it is left for mute/standby mode for remote control (RC-176) unit ? Service manual says that "However, the power for the amplifier turned on and off if it is in the power standby mode and the power cord is plugged in " . Try to loan or get that remote control. Local dealer perhaps can check that operation.

re: PMA-425R without the remote control unit

Hi.this is strange.it is in mute when you switch it on or what? Isnt there any mute button on the front panel?if the amp works it is nonsense you cannot switch it manually..to play on at least one input plugs.check different input to amp and use headphones to verify the ends are not burned..
