Easily the nicest receiver I have ever used. Internal dual DACs sound great, 150 watts/channel @ 8 ohms, class A-II amplifier, MC/MM phono inputs, selectable tuner mode (e.g. wide/narrow, filtering), etc. Despite all that, this is also the single nicest layout I've seen of any receiver. Digital source, tape source, and amp source (monitor) are all separately route-able from the front panel and can be locked/unlocked. Front also has AUX digital audio input. All intermediate audio controls except volume can be bypassed with direct mode. Sound quality on each function (amp, DACs, tuner) rivals separates of the era; I can barely best the amp with my collection of separates. While this unit can be beaten with separates, especially in light of modern DACs, I really feel it deserves five stars in the receiver category.
