This vintage gem is truly astounding. Years ago I bought a really beaten-up one for very little, and despite it's delapidated looks and non-working front illumination, it has been my refence when it comes to judging speakers ever since. 50 Watts haven't been so clean and loud at the same time ever, whatever the speaker you're running. The tightness low and high is remarked by everyone. Even totally unseasoned listeners ask me 'what is making that great sound?' Sadly lost due to a catastrophic mains power incident at my place, I now found a new second hand one, soon to be mine. Never let down an opportunity to listen to one. Avoid the Vxi, as it has nothing to do with this.

I recently had the pleasure of reworking my second hk pm650 and a quad 909.
Both had the beautiful warm tone as one would expect from these beauties, retro rules...Sound is life! Cheers from cape town sa.

I Bought PM650 for $200 and it's really dynamic and powerful, with a crispness, more refined and clarity to the way voices.

These have enough power to drive even demanding speakers, the sound is very clean and open. (The speakers i am driving are Phase technology - Teatro 7.5).

I have connected SONOS Connect to PM 650 via RCA cable and turned PM 650 into a Wireless stream my entire music library stored in my computer .

Also I have connected Pioneer PL-600 turntable.

I found that PM650 delivered the best. Its power amp is strong. Its purely analog performance, from input to speaker is simply great 10 out of 10 stars to PM650 amp.

If you find it, just grab it......
