I had one since 1984 and it stopped working yesterday, 18/10/2015.
If I could, I would buy the same again!
As for now, the Yamaha A-S500 will be the replacement.
It drove two Optimus Mach Two 3 way speakers (110w RMS) and gave me great and continuous pleasure.

re: A-X500V

Just found one at Goodwill today for $5.00 fully fuctional a few nicks and scratches but over all it looks like it has been very well taken care of. Lots of bells and whistles, (spectrum anylizer, video inputs etc) so I didn't expect much sonically, but its hard to argue with the fluid and well balanced sound it has. It does sound expensive and I find myself listening for long periods of time. Phono stage is exellent. Putting together an all Goodwill JVC. So far I have an AL-A151 turntable (looks like its never been used $20.00), A-X500V Integrated amplifier ($5.00) and and TD-V66 Cassette Deck (in virtually perfect condition $6.00)
