Auto Reverse Cassette Deck (1983)

add a review (1 review)

Here's a deck that embodies nearly all of JVC's advanced deck technologies - the DD-V7. It's a quick auto reverse model featuring a precision direct-drive capstan motor, and it has numerous features to make operation easier and more versatile, like the digital multifunction counter, Index Scan, Blank Search and Block Repeat.

The Flip Reverse Swivel Head System developed by JVC provides ideal response in both directions of tape play or record. Since it is teamed with an optical end-of-tape detection system, reverse action is extremely quick - no more than 0.4 seconds. It's silent too. The jewel-lock system assures that the correct azimuth will be maintained for years.

A total of three motors are used in the transport of the DD-V7, including an amazing Pulse Servo direct-drive motor for capstan drive. Since this motor is coreless, it is immune to speed variations known as cogging; therefore, wow and flutter specifications are truly outstanding. A circuit known as Multiplied Bridge Drive helps maintain speed constancy under all conditions.

For record and play, we employ our JVC exclusive SA head for low noise and distortion, and crystal-clear highs extending to the limits of audibility. Since SA is an extremely tough compound, it will last longer and retain peak performance longer than other head formulations.

Tape hiss is no longer of concern since the introduction of the Dolby-C noise reduction system. To assure best possible recordings from FM broadcasts, a MPX filter is built in.

Have you ever wondered how much tape is left during recording? The JVC 4-way digital counter lets you know in minutes and seconds. It also tells you how much tape you've used, either in minutes and seconds or by counter. Also, it serves as a counter for the Multi Music Scan system.

The DD-V7 has many convenience features including Index Scan that lets you automatically and sequentially preview every song on the tape for 10 seconds, Blank Search that lets you quickly locate the point on a tape where recorded materials are no more, and Block Repeat that lets you repeat between any two points on a tape.

One of the finest decks made by JVC....Almost unknown, but as good or better than anything made during that period...Including the big guys like Nakamichi ect.
I had mine gone through by Vince at AudioProz and he highly recommended this deck.Retailed for over 300$ in those days a very high end deck.
