This was the most sought after mini portable component system that JVC produced back in the Eighties. First released in the Silver Grey edition then later on in Black, We could not keep them in our Music World outlet in stock. Selling on average 12 units every two weeks. Functions include full logic soft touch controls in the deck section to one of the finest tuners included In a portable system. Dolby B and C noise reduction. Three tape selections, Normal, Chrome, And metal Full LCD Display with Clock, Programmable memory play and record, Sleep timer which will record from any source Play tape and Tuner. Five band Eq, inputs for Aux Phono and Line in out on both the Receiver and Deck section. Just a powerful little unit driving both two way speakers with an ample 27 watts of power by either 120ac or DC with 8 D cell batteries. The only thing of mention is the Fuse type lamps behind illuminating the LCD will eventually burn out. Requiring minor servicing. This is why with my unit i have decided to replace those with new fuse type LEDS to solve this problem. OF all the ones we sold back in the day this Model brought more customers into our store than any other.

re: PC-55

I agree with Bruce, this was an unrivaled and brutally loud unit
and in its time was the absolute king of music reproduction.
i unfortunate didn't have one but my cousin did and it was one
of the best quality units , period.i have had several different ghetto
blasters and this stands above them all.
