Excellent looking very good preamp. We love this front in champagne-gold. The pre has 2 MM and 3 MC impedance and capacitance positions and a straight in switch for Phono and CD. In German stereoplay magazine it has been classified equal to Bryston 12 B, Meridian 201 and Yamaha CX 1000. Also there are 2 Tape in/outs and 1 video in/out and 1 video in

re: C-03

Bought it from eBayer in Perth. Still nice condition for A$ 450. I was in ambiguity that time whether to buy an famous gear but old one or to assemble Borbelly's "All FET Preamp" (DC & class A. I like it !)& "All FET Shunt Regulator PSU". Hwvr, I researched on internet that ths is a class A one, the one I was looking for, and received positive reviews. Luxman has great name in the past, present & always been expensive stuffs :((( Actually I prefer the Borbelly one but I don't have time to assemble it & I don't wanna lose this good chance b4 loose it on eBay so I bought it. I saw from its schematic tht it's a good one. What amazed me is all its RCA sockets (rear) all thick GOLD PLATED. All still shining & no signs of worn out except slightly on the line input sockets from previous owner. Not like modern gold plated plugs & socket stuffs eventhough gold plated but after several yrs show some worn out due to climate (damp winter). The sound is good. Volume (potentiometer) shows no signs of worn out, eg: noisy whn someone turns the volume. Its scale is in dB not 1-10 like ordinary ones. Ths preamp has good/ extra workmanship : all its knobs are made of solid metal, heavy & lathed (delicate grooved. I feel it whn I touch it). Good looking front panel (metal): golden color. Whn I examined its appearance on eBay I got an impression tht this must be a special, good, and expensive stuff. Indeed ! Luxman stuffs always been expensive :((( Like its successful turntable in the past, direct drive tt pd-121 fited with SMS tone arm looked gorgeous shining ! Wow. I still see it with its modern stuffs. Luxman really a dedicated & committed audiophile stuffs.
