Legendary 300 watt tube amplifier used at Woodstock (X10 for ~5,000 watts). Less than 500 were made. Output tubes (8) 6LQ6. Rated at 300 watts they typically measure closer to 500W. As With all McIntosh products, they measure better than their advertised specifications.
Grateful Dead used a similar solid-state design, the MC2300 on their "Wall of Sound" tour in 1974. They (GD) used 28 of these 300W/channel units in bridged mode for a total of 16,800 watts. Both events relied on JBL 15" woofers, Woodstock used Altec horns, GD used Electrovoice horns.
