Got this monster amp from a secondhand hifi dealer. Had doubts about being from the late 80's . but when I played the frist few music samples I was stunted by the sound that I herd. This is one of the best in the world even comparing to newer Hi end amps. I have had amps like PASS X350.5 or Mark Levison mono blocks. SONY TANR10 mono blocks, but the ONKYO M510 beats them full time. This amplifier will drive any load, while being driven from any source. If there's a more emotionally satisfying amplifier anywhere, I am not aware of it. just look at the damping factor 300 !!!!No colouration of anykind just music as it should be.
My setup to which the M510 was hooked up to was :
preamp: SONY TAER1
CD player Sony CDPX 779ES as transport,
DAC : big 7 LAMPIZATOR.
Floorstanders : DIY DTQWT MKIII
LP record player: TECHNICS SP10 MKII with JELCO 12inch tonearm cart: GRADO SONATA SSII
Must add that the ONKYO was fully tested and recap done to the PSU. new binding posts replaced the old ones with WBT nextgen and a new power cable added as well. If you happen to see one for sale don't think twice just take it but mind that they still hold a high price (guess why) I bought mine for under 10K usd. It is worth that much. I have my audio nirvana now eveytime i turn it on and listen to music from any kind of source.
