The Pioneer SX-890 is an AM/FM stereo receiver with direct-coupled DC power amplifier giving a continuous power output of 60 watts per channel.

Features include PLL stereo FM MPX with automatic pilot signal canceller, tape duplicate/monitor convenience, loudness contour and low-noise CR-type tone control network with off position for ruler flat response, plus CR-type subsonic filter.
