I, personally LOVE this Receiver! There are bigger and more quality pieces, but this has been with me now some 3+ years and I just cannot even think of selling it when I think of thinning the herd!
I have sold a lot of early 1970's NAD's, Kenwoods,Pioneers, and few other Solid States, but between this one and a LUXMAN at the same wattage levels and those 2 are the hardest to get out of my system (literally) because of the subtle sound capabilities and LP/TT/Recording properties that are better than average, IMHO!!
I, also, have owned a complete Farm of G series SANSUI's and the one that got away was the Pure Power G5500. NOT the TOTL, but still worthy of the Sansui name (again IMHO) and was just as impressive. I will someday find one in that series again, but until then, I will be happy with what I brung home!
I now own some different Tube Amps from the 60's and relish every moment, but still LOVE to listen to those so-called VINTAGE Receivers of the late 70's and early 80's!! I believe vintage is overused and abused every where today............PHILCO, FISHER and KLH are Vintage as long as they are about 60+ years old!

Excellent mid range receiver. Very similar in function to the STA-78 except it is silver front panel (STA-78 is black front panel). I use one to drive my outdoor speakers. Ideal for small rooms like a bedroom. FM reception is very good (as is true with all Realistic receivers).
