re: A-7

Comment below about using WD40

If you are using WD40, make sure it is the specialist circuit cleaner. Standard WD40 is great for rusty saw blades, it is definitely not to be used on the insides of an amp.

re: A-7

hello HiFi Engine hive mind! Im new on the site so please forgive my noobiness. Ive been looking for the sansui a7 owners manual and can't seem to find. Can anyone point me in the right direction? All Im trying to figure out is how to record FROM tape 2 (revox b77) INTO tape 1 (my Universal Audio Apollo twin). I can go the other way but I want to be able to record back into Logic.

Sansui A-7 Power flickering

I have this amp, and when I plug it in, the power for the whole unit flickers (input selector light, power lights, the "screen" light). Same goes for the sound. Anyone knows what could be wrong with it?

re: Sansui A-7 Power flickering

Power supply probably needs rebuilding along with all electrolytic caps being replaced. Should be fun to restore it.

re: Sansui A-7 Power flickering

I had so many problems with this amp even Flicking since its old amp i have this amp for almost 30yrs, i opened the bottom and top cover and i washed the whole board and controls & switches with wd-40 and left amp in the sun for 3 days and plugged in every thing was all good try it nothing to lose, but NEVER connect amp after you spray wd-40, leave it for 2-3 days in the open air or even in the sun until all wd-w40 drips out.

Check make sure you are getting enough Amps from main line or change your wall socket, or change capacitors with lil high value, but dont put too much high UF caps just a lil bit high value.

re: A-7

Right Channel bargraph displays max out? Any suggestions, Is the protector cct faulty?

re: A-7

Volume control has dirt in it, i used wd-40 it worked, or any contact point cleaner will help,or try washing the whole board with it , let it dry for 3 days in the sun,
