Sony TC-458

The Sony Model TC-458 is a premium quality stereo tape deck specially designed for serious home recordists.

It features sophisticated electronic and mechanical refinements for rich, clear sound reproduction.

A closed-loop dual capstan tape drive assures positive tape to head contact regardless of external vibration.

The servo controlled AC capstan motor maintains speed variation to a minimum, even during large discrepancies in live voltage, load and frequency.

A Roto bi-lateral head assures the finest recording and playback performance in either direction.

Automatic reversing system is activated by sensing foil in both record and playback modes.

re: TC-458

Unit has 1 large flat belt in front mech (capstain) and 2 large round belts (tablereels), 1 small round belt (head turning mech) in rear of unit. Counter belt in front mech is also a round belt. Belts may be very hard to find.

re: TC-458

Does anyone have the schematics on this machine? I have a channel dead and would love to have the schematics so I can fix this problem.
