Sony Europe sent me this model TC-K590 in 1993, after I had complained to them about the cheaper 3-head model TC-K570, returning the latter to the dealer. Still, the outcome was the same with the TC-K590: I found no way to gain properly balanced recording results, at least according to the deck's own level indicators. One channel always appeared to produce lower level recorded than the other.
Lots of functions, prominent frequency response. Still, starting from just one capstan in a 3-head deck, the TC-K590 did not convince with its build: the sense of quality just was lacking. I never qualified this deck to my hifi rig. I never recorded from the albums or CDs, using this deck, as I just could not trust the outcome. The deck ended up in my hobby corner.
