Spectro Acoustics model 217

The Model 217 Straightline Preamplifier has begun a new era in the accurate reproduction of musical material recorded on phonograph discs.

Aside from including the most useful features found on expensive "control console" type preamplifiers (often left out of other "straightline" designs) the 217s totally new and unique phono amplifier stage provides seven front-panel pushbuttons designed to individually tailor the input parameters and gain/frequency response characteristics of the all-important phono preamplifier stage to any of the scores of available magnetic phonograph pickup cartridges.

Four of the seven phono-stage pushbuttons can be used to provide 16 different permutations of input impedance, in both the resistive and capacitive cartridge loading.

Gain: 40dB (MC), 30dB (MM)
