Totally new to this. Have a TEAC 2300S as of a few hours ago. Tape is moving reel to reel very quickly. much quicker than I see in YouTube videos. I am hitting Play, not FF orFR

you've got dirty contacts on

you've got dirty contacts on the control switches... I have an A-2300SX and had the same problem. It's a pain to get to all the switch contacts but once you do and clean them all with the best spray type cleaner you can get your deck should work like new. Check tape heads for wear (visible grooves) too... you can still get new ones I think.
