re: SL-P420

Hi all

Just joined and am looking for service manual in English for the Technics SL-P420 CD Player specifically how to strip the CD Door Mechanism and CD Transport Table for lubricating and re assembly as the one I have purchased whilst in mint condition has not been played for at least 10 years and all the lubed bits have dried out solid thus making the door mechanism intermittent for access (sometimes it will open -sometimes it wont which is very frustrating.)

I have gained access to the insides and am aware of the mechanical bits visually and know that care must be taken not to drop oil or grease on the pcb under the cd carriage but I can see from the underside of the cd transport that it needs grease somewhere because a white solid globule dropped off the underside of the sliding mechanism which I deduce was once silicon grease or similar to aid the in/out of the transport table.

I think the laser carriage advance rods could do with greasing aswell.

Also there is no Remote control for it and I wondered if anybody could point me to where to obtain one.

Any help gratefully received.
