Ferguson
Ferguson Radio Corporation began life in London in 1932 manufacturing radio sets.

It was bought out by Thorn Electrical Industries Ltd (later Thorn EMI) in 1936 and became a leading brand name in televisions and home audio equipment in the UK.
As demand for colour television sets took off in the 1970's, Thorn used the opportunity to rent out Ferguson branded sets through it's Radio Rentals retail stores.
The name was later sold to French company Thomson and the Enfield factory bulldozed to make way for a supermarket. The name is currently found on a range of digital radios marketed by the Dixons chain.
