High end CD Transport. The mk1 had the same CDM/4 swing arm laser as the 200 series players and an LED segment display.

Later versions use a modified version of a philips linear tracking laser sled and have a dot matrix LED display.

Review

Superb partner for the 563 DAC. Lucid, sweet yet powerful, big boned sound with fine sense of scale. One box 506 perhaps offers better value.
