4 ohm 100 watt - 8 ohm 50 watt ,, is it so ?

is it so that if a Amplifier is on 4 ohm = 100 watt . is 8ohm = 50 watt ?

Re: 4 ohm 100 watt - 8 ohm 50 watt ,, is it so ?

Not necessarily. In theory a perfect amplifier will double it's output with every halving of load (or vice versa) but it's not a given.

ok thank you , do you think the older amplifier 1970 s was more perfect than newer date ??

Re: 4 ohm 100 watt - 8 ohm 50 watt ,, is it so ?

Not really, there have always been good and bad amps when it comes to current drive and load tolerance. My early 90's pre/power and 2006 integrated both do a good job of driving different loads.

Re: 4 ohm 100 watt - 8 ohm 50 watt ,, is it so ?

ok i understand, there has been good and worse amplifier continuously since the 1970s perhaps even earlier, but I think that it was a time when one seriously worked to be the best, for the latter would be cheap too, then dropped probably a part, and it cost more for quality material that was previously general, there may be some truth in it? What do you think?

It's like comparing the old and new music. Unanswered Question!
