Hum and Noise when Phono is selected on Sansui AU 317 amplifier

I have an older system consisting of an equalizer, Sansui AU317 amplifier and a 200watt Adcom GFA1 power amp. I recently re-assembled the unit, after a move, and when selecting Phono , or Phono Subsonic, there is hum and crackling noise. This happens even if the turntable is not plugged in to rear jack. Vinyl albums play, but there is constant noise. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Hum and Noise when Phono is selected on Sansui AU 317 ...

You may have lost a ground connection at the phono input RCA jacks or on the Head Amp/EQ board. This board is labeled F-2751. Sometimes they made ground connections to the chassis with screws; tighten all the screws on this board (do not over tighten). Look at the solder connections on the RCA jacks.
