JVC Sea 10 Equalizer - US to UK

I picked up this little unit for free, but it's US spec and I'm in the UK. Will it blow if I plug it in here or simpky not work? Do I need a converter (It's 120V and UK uses 230V) or is it best to have someone fiddle with the internals to make it UK compliant? Anyone have any experience/advice on this - would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing that is made for 120 volt operation will work on 230 volts; don't try it.
If you are lucky, it may have a tapped transformer that can be set for 240 volt operation. If not, you will need a step-down transformer to get 120 volts.

Thanks, yes, I saw a transformer and it seems that it can be set for 240 - will do that and see how it goes before going for a stepdown. Thanks for the info!
