Kenwood KR810

Memory battery replacement for Kenwood KR810. Also, FM station readout shows 96.2 when 96.1 is tuned. Help

Re: Kenwood KR810

I don't think your receiver uses a battery for memory; it should use a capacitor that is near the microprocessor IC (about a 42 pin IC). It will have a value like .047F (for farad), 5.5 volt. There is no schematic for your receiver in the library here.
Could be an alignment issue or synthesizer problem causing the FM tuning error.

Re: Kenwood KR810

Thanks for your reply, however, I made a mistake on the model number, it is a KR820. I still have the same problem. My owners manual states that there is a lithium battery installed to keep the station memory alive. I looked inside the unit and could find not battery. Thanks again.

Re: Kenwood KR810

The battery is installed on the circuit board near the microprocessor; about in the center of the receiver. It should be in a battery holder.
