Knocked Pioneer SX-990 lights out

From the knows enough to be dangerous dept... I was poking around a display light socket with a volt meter on a perfectly well functioning Pioneer SX-990 and must have shorted something. All of a sudden, no display lights. Otherwise works fine. Any ideas on how bad a fix is it? Thanks

Unfortunately the service information here is of no use. There might be a fuse for the lamps; it will be connected to the power transformer.

Thank you... absolutely correct!

Re: Knocked Pioneer SX-990 lights out

That right, there should be like a 1a fuse somewhere inside, that feeds the 8vac to the panel. It may be a small fuse board. I have a Pioneer SX-1500TD that appears to almost the same as your 990. If you can't find it, let me know and I will open my SX-1500 to see whether it is a fuse of fusable resistor.

Thank you, Tom... yes, found blown fuse on underside and soldered in a new one this morning. Easy fix, works fine now. Also put in 4 LEDs on backlight. Runs a lot cooler... and a little brighter.
