Lamp for Sony TA-2650

My "power lamp" in my Sony TA-2650 is gone.

The service manual gives me 1-519-139-00 (NL401) as a part number.

I can only find it at around $10 ex. shipping.

Can I switch this part with a more generic item? I have not been able to find voltage/watt on the lamp anywhere.

Re: Lamp for Sony TA-2650

That lamp is only a neon lamp. A standard NE-2 or 2H should work.

(I wish I could get $10 for my neon lamps!)

Very often on older models of washing machines, irons, built in oven manufacturers used this kind of lamp like signal lamp when you switch ON them ( glim lamp). You can buy it from flea market for cents.
