Pioneer SX-650

Before anybody laughs me off the forum: I'm new and greener than green. That said, I have a question.

I recently bought a Pioneer SX-650 receiver. I was thinking about making an antenna from speaker wire so that I can listen to the tuner part (didn't come with one, don't have one). Can I use a single strand of wire cut to some 1/4 or 1/2 wavelength and just put the one end to the 75 ohm post? Do I need to have two strands of wire (one to post the other to a ground)? If it is two stands, 75 ohm or 300 ohm? Please help. I just want to listen to the radio.

Re: Pioneer SX-650

If you are relatively close to the transmitter then this type is usually best:
