TEAC GE-20 VUmeter

Hello everybody,
What is this for exactly?? I mean, i improved my stereo with an SX 850 and now the EQ VUmeter goes near the red everytime I increase the volume on the amplifier? Any thoughts about this?
If anybody has this EQ connected to a vintage amplifier it would be good for me to change some impressions about the improvement on the sound...
Thanks a lot

Re: TEAC GE-20 VUmeter

The meter is there for helping set the level. If the EQ is connected to the pre out/power in loop the input level will change with volume setting and you risk driving it into distortion at higher volumes. An EQ is best connected to a tape loop.

Re: TEAC GE-20 VUmeter

Hey, thanx! I just connected the EQ to the "Adaptor" connections of the SX 850 while putting some jumpers on the pre out/power in section below... it sounds ok but the VUmeter of the EQ goes into the red all of the time (same level with the volume high or low...). Is this normal?

Re: TEAC GE-20 VUmeter

You need to adjust the input level so that the overload indicator LEDs aren't lit, then the output level to keep the signal out of the red on the VU meter.
