Technics model GX-350 AV Stereo Control Receiver (1993-94)

I have owned the GX-350 AV Stereo Control Receiver since 1993. It has served me very well with no
issues of breakdowns until just recently. I first noticed that it took a couple of times to turn on the
receiver and it would suddenly shut down all of a sudden. It would turn on again okay until yesterday when it went dead.
Has anyone worked on one of these, and could they tell me what might be the problem. I took the cover off and the F1 fuse which is a 6 Amp fuse is okay. When I turn on the receiver all I get is a clicking
noise and it is dead. Thank you for any help.

I finally found the problem. I was checking for loose solder joints around the
ac in board and a connection to the large transformer was the problem. I resoldered it and
my receiver was back to normal again.
Thanks for the helpful suggestions.

I think you might have the SA-GX350.

I would first resolder ALL the pins of the two audio power modules (these are mounted to heat sinks).

I soldered all the pins of the two audio power modules but so far I still have a dead receiver?

Yes I do have the Technics model GX-350. I will solder all the pins of the two audio modules that are mounted to heat sinks, and see if that helps. Thanks very much for your suggestion.
