Technics SA-160 sound disappears after a moment

I have a problem with my sa-160. it turns on normally. the sound is fine and dandy but after a random amount of time (sometimes it can be after hour of listening to music, sometimes just seconds after turning on) the sound disappears. the amplituner works fine beside that. i can change inputs, radio stations and such. and when i turn off and turn on i get the sound back on
any help?

You may have poor solder connections at the power amplifier module (SV13120B); this is a 14 pin module that is mounted to a heat sink. Resolder all the pins.

is it possible that his happened all of a sudden? i was constantly using the amp for about 5-8 years everyday and it never had any problems.

Solder is made of lead and tin. These metals are crystaline by composition, and will revert back when heated and cooled over time. This causes cracking that can occur over months or years; when it goes too far you will have bad connections that can cause your problems.
