Yamaha M 60 AMP

I hooked up speakers and my turntable and do not have sound. So I looked at owners manual and it says to hook up the control amp is there a component I am missing in order for this to work? Thought I was able to just hookup turntable,CD player or tuner. Thanks Best Wishes

That is a power amplifier, not an integrated amplifier. You need some type of control amplifier for a phono input because the level is way too low.
You do have volume controls, but some kind of pre-amp for all your devices is a preferable way to control audio, especially since there is only one input.

Thank you for your knowledge. So what would be my best choices for a pre -amp? This is new to me as I've got many receivers and a few amps integrated ( meaning it has jacks to hook up components is that correct?) And is the control amp limited to only one component?

I would look for something like a Yamaha C60, C70 or C80 that would match your amplifier. Most any control amplifier would work though. If you have a turntable with a moving magnet or moving coil cartridge that is the type of phono input you would need to get in a preamp. More 'modern' ones will have CD and or DVD inputs. The library here has most of the information you need on the vintage models.

Is the Yamaha CX 630 a control or a pre amp? So the C series you mentioned are pre amps correct? As I do have two new AT150MLX carts I want to make sure this is a suitable fit. Thanks

The CX-630 is in the library here.
