AKAI GX 4000D SPEED SLEEVE

I just got an Akai GX 4000d and noticed that the speed sleeve is missing.
Does anyone have the exact quotas of the small tube that fits on the driving axe?
I measured this axe and noticed a 3,9 mm. The big diameter is somewhere around 8 mm but I need the EXACT mm size, as well as the lenght is... about 13 mm.
I will do it by myself using Al hard alloy, as I cannt afford to pay 60 $ in order to fix my 100 $ RTR player. Much appreciate your helping details .

Re: AKAI GX 4000D SPEED SLEEVE

I recently bought a GX 4000D from the goodwill and thought the spindle sleeve and nut were also
missing. In the operators manual it tells under changing the speed that there is a post under the recording/playback head cover (it just pulls off) on the left side between the cover pin and a guide post there is a post to store the spindle sleeve and retaining nut, that is where I found the one I thought I was missing. Pull the head cover and take a look yours might be there.

Re: AKAI GX 4000D SPEED SLEEVE

Can anyone tell me if there are interchangeable parts between the Akai GX 4000D and other 4000 0r 400 models? For example: are the pinch rollers interchangeable? How about the heads? Belts? etc.

Yes, they are ! Akai standardized production allows interchangeabilty for many parts. For the speed sleeve only, pols see this link:
