Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

Here is a Heathkit SA-3 stereo integrated tube amp. A nice little single ended stereo amp! It has 2 x EL-84/6BQ5's by MULLARD, 2 x 7199's branded Heathkit made by RCA and a EZ-81 for the rectifier. Looks like it was made only in 1961.

Re: Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

You can get more than 5 watts from an EL84 I think. The Beard PA35 put out 35 watts per channel using six EL84s per side.
The VTL Tiny Triodes put out 25 watts with four EL84s.
In any event, they are sweet little tubes...

Re: Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

Hey bro! how many watts per channel?

Re: Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

My guess is that it is around 7.5 to maybe 10 watts per channel since it only has one output tube per channel.

Re: Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

You canĀ“t get more than 5 Watt for one EL84 !

Re: Heathkit SA-3 Tube Amp

Thanks for the feedback, sounds right. I will have to hook it up to my watt meter sometime.
