Re: PSE STUDIO ONE PREAMPLIFIER

My PSE Studio One (bought used) S/N 601464 was recapped due to its age and after 46 bucks of Blackgate parts (2009 price) for 9 47uf/50V, 4 100uf16V and 4 3.3uf/50V Blackgate capacitors, it still produces exceptional music reproduction as of today (2018) after less than 100 hours of break in. The sound is getting much better as I put more hours to it. These Blackgates are really good capacitors. My tech spent 1.5 hours of recapping and maintenance work on it. During that time (2009), he charges 80/hr which I don't mind because he does exceptional work. Today(2018) his rate goes up to 100/hr and he is super busy. This preamp is one of my mostly used unit in the house. It drives my Michi RHB-10 Power amp and a Polk Audio with upgraded crossover with 2 1uf/250V ESA Clarity Caps, 2 12uf/250V ESA Clarity Caps and 4 18uf/250V ESA Clarity Caps. I have another stock Studio One and Lsi9 jus for comparison but it does not sound as good as the upgraded ones. Cost of Lsi9 upgrades is $218 including labor (50 bucks for .5 hours of labor)
