Re: SD1000 display

I restored mine, including with a new CRT in 2016. Everything else was all original. The CRT's weren't easy to find. I bought extras for this one and an 1100. I couldn't afford the ask for the prices of the ones that are (plausibly) NOS on auction sites, so I made up the difference in sweat equity. I'm very pleased. They might not be quite as sought after as the 1100, but once you have both side by side, you begin to appreciate the differences. I think they're both terrific. Congratulations!

Re: SD1000 display

If you have an original (or quality color photocopy) of the Owner's Manual, please consider uploading it here. I uploaded an imperfect B&W scan a while back, but these machines deserve better. TIA...

Re: SD1000 display

All i have is the original service manual I think.Just checked. Mine is a very good copy of the owners manual, its stapled but some pages look original since there pull outs. will check the ones here and if mine are better I will scan them and upload them.

Re: SD1000 display-request for a HQ color .pdf of OM

High Resolution/Color Scans of the SD1000 SM would be great and would be much appreciated.

I get that the OM isn't as critical as the SM is, but there are aspects of these oscilloscope/stereo display units that aren't completely intuitive. The OM assists users in figuring out if the 1000 does what it does because of its design or if certain things are attributable to age/alignment issues. In my case, I determined that mine behaves essentially as a new, post-restoration/alignment sample would. But there are issues with pre-digital Oscilloscopes that have to be kept in mind. For example, they "warm up" and you have to readjust the vertical display as it reaches its ambient room operating temperature. If one is used to digital oscilloscopes, that might not seem "intuitive". If someone has an original color (or even a scan of a high-quality copy) of the OM, I'm sure there are many collectors that would sincerely appreciate it. Thanks again.

Re: SD1000 display-request for a HQ color .pdf of OM

I will send my up , maybe its a tab better then the one you put up. As for the way it works. since i use a scope everyday, I have both digital and analog. And for audio and vintage audio. I prefer analog bench scope. Digital scopes dont react fast enough and even though they do all the math with just a push button. the analog does the same you just have to know how to read the scales and do the math yourself. We had a class just on how to measure and read scopes and test equipment. Was not the most exciting one. Rather boring, but never the less we had to do it.

Re: SD1000 display-request for a HQ color .pdf of OM

I just took another look at mine, and that one's scanned color and at a pretty decent resolution. But if you've got a different edition of the SM (one with color-coded information on the schematics themselves) that would be appreciated. I have originals of others from that time (Quad decoders and the RT-10x0 series tape decks) and some have color schematics and others are monochrome like the one I have for the SD-1000. As far as I'm concerned, the more, the merrier. (The real elusive brass ring is that OM!) Thanks again...
