re: AA-R20

Hi there fellow users & guests,

Ive recently picked up an Akia AA-R20 Tuner/Amp, she is old but with the love & attention given inside & out she is looking and feeling a lot younger however there is one small problem i have with this machine and that is that all 4 of the 8volt 0.3amp bulbs have blown and i would really like to replace them. These bulbs are very similar (not in shape) to the old Christmas Tree lights where the exposed wires poke out at the bottom of the bulb, can anyone help me regarding locating these bulbs as we all know these old Amps look great with their Metre,Signal & Tuner lighting effects working.

Kind Regards to all at HiFiEngine.

re: AA-R20

The push in bulbs are wedge type. The 12V types are commonly found in car dashboards and fruit machine displays :)

If you do a Google search for '8v 300ma wedge bulb' you'll find plenty of people selling them. It might be worth checking the width of the base with the seller as wedge bulbs do come in at least a couple of different sizes (possibly not the 8V ones?).

Here's one of the first that came up for me (no affiliation)

I have a AKAI AA-R20 amplituner, AKAI GSC-750D casete deck and works perfectly above 25 years !
without defect !

I'm an American living and working as a Technical Writer in the Netherlands and this is definitely not a German manual. The first language (from left) is Swedish (sv), the second (middle column) is Dutch (nl), not German, and the third is correctly listed as Spanish.
I can understand the confusion though as they can look similar to those unfamiliar with these two languages. Still, Dutch is a very different language to German.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for spotting that. I must have been on auto-pilot that night as I couldn't even count to three! My Dutch speaking partner would be appalled...

Yeah, they don't like that too much (goes back to the war).
