akia CR80DSS

When i first turn it on i hear a noise in the left rear channel and the sound is weak if you tap on it will come on and play fine i look on the board for a cold sorder spot did not see one.I think it is a bad transistor it has three in it also and ic in it.Has anyone had this problem if so let know witch transistor is bad.

Output sound problem

The output on all the channels is not responding like it should. If I turn the volume up all the way on my reciever, there will be subtle distorted beats to go with the music, but the signal just isn't coming in strong enough. However, head phones will show a little better results, but not by much, if I hook them straight into the deck. I'm thinking dead transistors near the output. Any other ideas?

Program selector

My machine will not change from proram 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 automatically. Only manually by pressing the proram change button. Otherwise it just continuosly play the same chanel

Any ideas thanks

8 track

Hi, it should be a small problem.
As you know the tapes have a metal strip to switch head.
You say the button works fin.
Along side your tapehead there will be 2 contact next to each other.
When the metal piece of the tape goes by it makes contact.
Clean this contacts, and test it to short with a screwdriver or so.

Akai 8 track problem

Hya, if you hav'nt refurbished most if not all your cartridges you may find the pressure pad is not pressing the tape on the heads, also the tape on the tape change strip, look and see normaly a foam strip has gone flat.
